Could you tell me if the Motorola Cable Modem is powered via the USB via the pc or has its own psu?
I am trying to support somebody with possibly the same modem and they also want to plug in a netgear wireless router and they say the lights go off when the pc is off on the modem...so I would not be able to reset the modem as you say you do when you say "disconnect the desktop pc from modem after re-setting modem to factory default. pokemon ruby is only for the game boy advance if you have the actual gba game i find it legal if you download the rom through sites or downloading programs and then download the emulator called visual boy advance the best gba emu around.
The only drivers worth doing are graphics cards on a regular basis to keep up with new games, you should only do any other drivers when you are having technical problems.
You should never have to flash your BIOS on your motherboard.
Partitions are personal preference, I prefer 1 drive, some like to separate one drive and store different stuff on each partition.

annerbreak is also a good site and they look professional for a free internet site however they are used alot on the internet and wouldnt reccoment it for a long term banner
you are best off making it yourself or getting a background and editing it or paying someone to make one which can vary in price from as little as £5 to £100 depending on what you want time scale and quality
