Description Use this software for first time USB installations only. Do NOT attach a USB cable until prompted by the installation program. The driver contained in this download package is the host-based printer driver for Microsoft Windows 2000, XP (32-bit), Server 2003 (32-bit) and Vista 32 bit.

Installation Instructions Before proceeding with the software installation, the printer must first be properly set up.
1. Close any software programs running on your computer.
2. Click the Download button and a File Download box will appear.
3. Select Save and a Save As box will appear.
4. Select a directory to save the file in and click Save. Remember the location of the saved file.
5. Locate the file using Windows Explorer when the download has completed.
6. Double click on the file. This will extract all the driver files into a directory on your hard drive. The default directory is C:\Program Files\Hewlett-Packard\LaserJet 1020 Drivers. However, you can change the path and directory name at the time of extracting the file.
7. Click Next after the file extraction is complete and follow the instructions presented by the install program. Do NOT attach the USB cable to the printer until prompted by the install program.
8. If a "Found new Hardware" screen appears, click "Locate and install driver software (recommended). (Windows Vista only).
9. After the installation is complete you can delete the file "lj1020-HB-pd-winxp2kv32-xx.exe" if desired.
