Hi folks.
looking for a little advice, motorola sb4200 cable modem connected to a netgear wgt 624 wireless router.
ISP was blueyonder and is now virgin media.
can anybody give me the configuration details please.
desktop pc connected to the modem via usb works fine, the problem is connecting the netgear wgt 624 wireless router to the modem via the ethernet port , the router can not detect an internet connection and therefore have no internet access via the router.
thanks people.

Could you tell me if the Motorola Cable Modem is powered via the USB via the pc or has its own psu?

I am trying to support somebody with possibly the same modem and they also want to plug in a netgear wireless router and they say the lights go off when the pc is off on the modem...so I would not be able to reset the modem as you say you do when you say "disconnect the desktop pc from modem after re-setting modem to factory default. Then re-booted the modem,"

Thanks.
